Today I spoke with a TD (Chazingtime) because I have serval watches on the way, he told me that there are some raids at the big factories last months and especially last 2 days. factorys have no stock at the moment and the watches are very hard to get. Found some posts on reddit that there are indeed raids at factorys in China. Replica watches are not something we talk about too frequently ‘round these parts but there appears to be big news on that front this week. Reports online suggest that Chinese officials have raided the prominent ZF factory that’s perhaps best known for creating high quality Tudor and IWC replicas, or “reps” as they’re sometimes called.

I chatted with Li from jtime this morning and wanted to give you a quick update on the ZF and VSF factory situation. According to Li, both factories are currently shut down and are keeping a low profile. Neither was affected by the raids.The majority of the models, which are generally cheaper, are presented as “replica watches”: the customer is aware that he is buying a counterfeit. The other case, generally for the best reproductions, comprises models sold as authentic, which are much more complex to produce, and which do even more harm to brands.

After reading the message over on Reddit, I emailed Li over at Jtime as I'm currently awaiting QC images for a newly purchased watch. If I get any more updates, I'll be sure to keep everyone posted.
