I am planning to buy an Omega - Aqua Terra 150m 41mm from Steve as my next watch. Link I am wondering, how easy is it to get a replacement movement if the one that comes with the watch breaks?
Hello everyone, I'm looking for a VSF Omega Aqua Terra or VSF Planet Ocean replica. However, I can't quite decide which movement would be the best choice. It should be as easy as possible to maintain and repair. Could someone possibly tell me which VSF Omega movement is closest to the ETA 2824.
Looks to be a 2892 clone. The 2892 was the movement that a genuine Omega would have used (non coaxial) and the movement that the original 2500 coaxial movement was designed from. My suggestion is to first verify the movement, but I'm pretty positive it is based on the rotor assembly. The Omega Aqua Terra is an iconic watch. Here are some affordable alternative watches and homage watch models.
The movement is legit, but you have to know what to look for. There are counterfeited Omegas where the movement is faked by using a dummy upper side, mimicking the original, with a functional movement hidden underneath. Can you tell the original from the fake? Most foolproof method is to take a strong magnet and put it directly onto the caseback. Since it’s a METAS movement, it will be totally unaffected. If the watch stops or changes behaviour in any way, it’s fake. And before anyone downvotes me because they think this is bad advice, Omega themselves even suggest using this method, as shown here.
Definitely a fake. 8900 movement does not have a regulator. The photo clearly shows a regulator tab above the balance wheel. Reactions: mui.richard , Serge_tm , Turpinr and 6 others
It appears fake. The bracelet endlink ears look wrong, the movement blued screws look almost black, the engraved omega and stainless on the case bottom look too light, and as mentioned, the hands are not set correctly. I wouldn't touch this with a 10' pole. There's one thing that people seem to not know that you can find on omega website to tell if it's fake. Put a magnet against the movement. It's resistant to an mri machine amount of gauss. Got what I think is a legitimate Omega Seamaster Aqua terra 2503.33, and would like feedback---agree or disagree. The bracelet appears to be a junk replacement, and also wondering if I could get a used genuine Omega in the ~0 range.

The 60/40 portfolio had an outstanding decade—even counting 2022. The typical 60% stock/40% bond portfolio declined about 16% in 2022—a painful period for balanced investors that has raised doubts about the viability of this strategy.
